I seamlessly integrate a rich tax experience obtained from over a decade of working with Ernst & Young (EY) Uganda Tax and the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) with my dual qualifications in Accounting (CPA, ACCA Fellow) and Law to offer unique and targeted tax solutions.

My Core Expertise and Professional Background

My expertise in Uganda Tax is built upon two pillars: service at the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and advisory at Ernst & Young (EY) Uganda.

From early 2015 to 2019, as a Senior Tax Advisor at EY, I specialized in compliance and advisory across key areas of Uganda Tax, including VAT, Income Tax (Withholding taxes WHT, Pay as you Earn, Capital Gains Tax- CGT), International Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Business Transaction Advisory.

In 2019, I transitioned to the URA Extractives Taxation division as an International Tax and Transfer Pricing Specialist. This role provided deep expertise in Uganda's oil, gas, and mining tax regimes. I led crucial Transfer Pricing and International Tax reviews for Petroleum license holders and their contractors. I was also charged with ensuring the tax policy framework within the oil and gas and mining sectors are robust leading to amendments within the tax laws for the extractives sector after extensive stakeholder consultations.

My Qualifications and Academic Excellence

My strong technical foundation is supported by top-tier professional and academic qualifications including Dual Professional Qualification Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Law.

I hold BSc in Applied Accounting from the Oxford Brookes University and Bachelor of Laws (BLaw) from Makerere University and a Master of Laws (LLM) in ‘Energy Economics and Law’ from the University of Aberdeen (UoA) in Scotland.

I hold the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) from the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) where I remain an associate member. I am also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and an active member of the Uganda public accountants’ body (ICPAU). Additionally, I am an associate member of the Association of Business Executives (ABE) of the UK.

Mentorship and Teaching

Beyond client work, I am committed to developing the next generation of tax professionals by providing mentorship to young professionals navigating their career paths in taxation and finance.
